A CHESTNUT CAKE WITH HONOURS

  • This is an awesome cake and one of my favourites. The fact that it remains moist, till the last gulp makes it a pleasure to make.
  • Mix 3 whole eggs, 100 gms of melted butter, 100 gms of icing sugar, 150 gms of ground hazelnut, 1 tspn of baking powder, 8 gms of vanille sugar and 200 gms of chestnut puree.
  • You could either buy chestnut puree in your local supermarket or you could make it yourself. Try not to buy the sweetened ones, if so, cut the sugar input to the cake.
  • Yes, i know, it's so easy to make too. Mix this all up. Pour in a prepared (with baking paper) cake form and bake at about 180° for 50 whole minutes.
  • That's how the basic cake is done, now could be enhanced with chocolate ( like above) or simply iced or glazed or filled with nuts, whatever...
  • This cake could be made 1-2 days in advance, that helps it get real moist...just melts in your mouth.
  • This recipe makes one whole cake with 8-10 portions.
